The Bruins lost game seven of the Stanley Cup Final on their own ice. It's the worst way to end the season. Naturally there is going to be a lot of blame to go around.
I'm going to say it right now. If you blame Tuukka Rask you are a neanderthal moron who doesn't know what you're talking about. The ONLY reason we found ourselves in the position to win the cup was because of that Finnish beauty in net.
Here's who we can actually blame. Our top six forwards. The "Perfection Line" looked like absolute dogshit for the majority of the post season. Pasta had a brutal opening two rounds and Marchand had an abysmal Stanley Cup Final. He may be directly to blame for the loss as he skated to the bench early, giving the St. Louis blues their second, and ultimately game winning goal of the night.
This hurts more than 2013 by a lot. Chicago was better than us that year. St. Louis is not. We should have won. We should have won game five. It hurts because it feels like this era of Bruins is about to come to an end. Chara is old. Bergeron is old. Krejci is getting old. There are definitely a lot of great young players on the team but it's not going to be enough to win a cup for a while.
The Bruins have been to three Stanley Cups in less than a decade. That's pretty great. It just hurts to come that close and get nothing. You almost wish they lost in the first round so that you don't have to live through the misery of watching another team skate on your ice with the cup in their hand.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think our first line would be a problem going into the playoffs. They just looked off for the entire two month run. I'm curious to see what kind of injuries they've been battling because no way did Bergeron play like that without being hurt.
The Blues played dirty. I hate most of their roster with the exception of Ryan O'Reilly who deserved the Con Smythe Trophy after being the first player since Wayne Gretzky to score in four consecutive Stanley Cup Final games.
I know this sounds salty but the rest of them can go to hell, including their dirty ass clown of a coach, Craig Berube.
Also side note...fuck the NBC broadcast. I'm glad I don't have to listen to that band of toolsheds for the next few months. Why in the fuck did I have to watch Charles Barkley be interviewed during a game seven intermission? I want to hear a first period breakdown and you have this fuckstick talking about hockey? Unbearable analysis by that awful broadcasting team for two months.
To sum this whole thing up, if you blame Rask you're an idiot and I hate you.
Peace.
