We did our first Beers N' Bruins livestream and it went...okay

Christian Renzi

At various times throughout our livestream broadcast of "Beers N' Bruins" I sat on the remote, pausing or rewinding the game, causing the whole room to scream at me. The first of these instances was in the first 30 seconds of our broadcast. It really started the show off on a great note.

When I thought of the idea to stream us during the Bruins game I didn't think it would be as difficult as it ended up being. I was distracted by the game and stopped talking. Nobody likes dead air. Casey kept brining up the Patriots Super Bowl loss despite my explicit instructions not to mention a football team in the month of April.

At one point Steven, who backed out of being in the episode when I mentioned that he had to be on camera, took the mic and did an impression of the little daemon kid from The Grudge. If it were a good impression it would be fine but he attempted it with a mouthful of beer, which really made it inaccurate.

The room was a comfortable 85 degrees, add that with beer and I was sweltering, making my face turn bright read. Casey was hot too, wearing a winter Bruins hat that he wasn't allowed to take off because then he would just be in a Red Sox sweatshirt which is not allowed on Beers N' Bruins.

We spent a few minutes of the stream talking about Steven's vast DVD collection, which included cult classics like, Mr. Deeds, DeJa vu, and Deuce Bigalow.

Casey also was drinking a beer called "Damn Sure" brewed in Henniker, NH and every time he took a sip he would make the same joke, "the Bruins are going to win this game thats for damn sure." He laughed to himself each time.

Our audience reach was an impressive five people, which I really think is a success! We'll see how future episodes go but I think we are off to an unorganized mess of a start and that's just the way I like it.
